Parents

Xi Kappa understands that Greek Life can be stereotyped and miscommunicated. Coupled with common misconceptions and the academic vigor of higher education, we can expect parents to be concerned. The National Board of Xi Kappa welcomes communication with parents to address those concern. We strive to establish a transparent organization that will allow students and their parents to make the right choice.

You are welcome to contact us via the Contact Page. Additionally, the information located below will provide our position on common issues.

The In-Take Process

Xi Kappa Fraternity, Inc. strictly prohibits hazing in any form as a term or condition of membership in the organization. No chapter of Xi Kappa is allowed to partake in any form of hazing of its prospective members.

Hazing describes a practice that puts new members in unnecessary mental and physical harm. Regardless of the many definitions and standards of what is considered “hazing”, the National Board takes any hazing allegations very seriously, and will respond appropriately.

Xi Kappa’s new member education process is rooted in traditional curriculum that familiarizes prospective new members in the core beliefs and values of Xi Kappa while promoting Asian American awareness, contemporary social issues, and campus involvement. The process is used to develop leadership capabilities and create men of excellence.

A general outline of the new member education process is outlined and available upon request. Xi Kappa also maintain a risk management document that specifies restricted practices and subsequent consequences. Both documents are available by the National Board.

Alcohol

Xi Kappa prohibits all members from consuming alcohol while wearing fraternity attire in participating in official fraternity events and while attending any new member education events. Any prospective new member found consuming alcohol during the new member education process will be automatically expelled from the new member education process. Xi Kappa seeks to promote the highest standards of professionalism. Violation of this policy has resulted in the termination of individual’s membership of Xi Kappa

Leadership

Xi Kappa promotes the creation of men of excellence throughout the fraternity. Our goal is not to create men who follow, but men who lead and promote the growth of the fraternity and raising Asian Awareness.

Academics

Academics is a primary focus for Xi Kappa. Without education, Xi Kappa would not be able to make the presence it has on its campuses. Xi Kappa maintains a GPA requirement for all members currently enrolled and those seeking membership. Members who fall beneath the requirements of Xi Kappa’s academic standards are placed under probation and restricted from fraternity activity.

Accountability

The National Board of Xi Kappa has a network of alumni and officers throughout the nation who serve as liaisons to community leaders and administrators. For those wishing to contact the National Board can contact our board members here
